Inspiración Dance Chicago (IDC) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 dance group located in Chicago, IL. Drawing from multiple dance forms while retaining the cultural authenticity of Latin dance, IDC presents groundbreaking instruction and choreography that utilizes Latin dance to educate and enrich the lives of young people and the community. IDC offers free and subsidized learning and performance opportunities to dancers of all ages. Our community activities include:
Nicholas Senn High School: Partner since 2013
After School Programming: IDC directs a free after-school dance program at Senn that has included training in bachata, salsa, and hip-hop. Each semester IDC places one to two choreographies on Senn students for their Fall and Spring dance concerts and supplies costuming for the pieces.
Master Classes: IDC offers master classes in hip-hop, bachata, and salsa. Master class instructors have included Dan Qwan Gibson of Chicago Dance Crash, Christopher Courtney of Culture Shock Chicago, William Gill of Joel Hall, and several IDC principle dancers.
Senn Arts Dance Program: IDC dancers have served as adjudicators for the Senn Arts dance auditions since the inception of the program in 2013.
