Founded by Jeri Pulver, the mother of Laura Maceika, the Laura Twirls Foundation works to support “programs for survivors of suicide, including public speaking events, counseling (private and group), art therapy programs and dance initiatives.” In addition, every year the foundation provides support for a young dancer to attend an intensive summer ballet program in the United States.
With our focus on community education through dance, we are proud to have made our third appearance in the event and we look forward to coming back next year.
We also wanted to announce that we are running a special two-for-one “Back to School Special” for our drop-in salsa classes at the Joel Hall Dance Center:
We want to thank all of the wonderful people who came out to the open house at the Joel Hall Dance Center last weekend. It was a great crowd with exciting energy. We are going to keep that energy going in our regular classes.
Hey Friends of Inspiración!
We had a great time doing our thing for a good cause at the SER Central States Annual Fundraiser. We want to give major props Aviva Brill for her excellent planning of the event and to dancers Camille, Cate, Connor, Julie, and Marissa for their great performances. Pics and video clips from the evening will be coming up soon, including Chris doing the Snake and the Cabbage Patch on the dance floor.
We're going to be in Milwaukee this Saturday giving a workshop and performances at Wherehouse. If you are going to be up that way come check them out. We're giving a salsa combinations workshop and perform Yeah! and Solo Cypher.
We also wanted to let you know that there will be no salsa classes at the Joel Hall Dance Center this Sunday August 18th. We will be back the following week, however. We look forward to seeing you then.
Lastly, we will be putting together our free college team for the 2013-2014 academic year soon. If you know of any college or graduate students who are looking for an affordable option to train and perform Latin Dance please connect them to our website.
