We have all seen dance couples and teams do lifts and wonder to ourselves, "How do they do that and then jump right back into the dance movement?" Well, to lift that veil a little bit we've made a second blooper reel of the IDC dancers experimenting with new lifts that eventually did make it to the dance floor. It took a lot of work to get these lifts down, but it's seriously funny to watch the process. Hit read more button and take a look at the video to see for yourself!
Our work in the community, with the students at Senn High School and Loyola University, is one of the most rewarding things that we do. Just last month we participated in Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations at the Loyola Univeristy Latino Ball, where we provided a lesson with the most awesome crowd ever, gave a performance by our professional company, and witnessed the debut of our college team. It was a wonderful event and we just wanted to share some pics from what was an amazing evening.
We are back from the Canada Salsa Congress and are happy to bring exciting new material back to Chicago. This Sunday at the Joel Hall Dance Center we are going to be offering two workshops in place of our regular beginner/intermediate and master salsa classes. From 4-5 pm we will be offering a workshop in Latin Funk. And from 5-6 we will be offering a workshop in Boogaloo. Latin Funk blends West Indian Dance Hall grooves with a Latin vibe, while Boogaloo fuses Cuban and Puerto Rican influences into Soul music. They are both super exciting and will bring new flavor to your dancing.
Come check them out: 4-5pm Latin Funk 5-6pm Boogaloo At the Joel Hall Dance Center, 5965 North Clark $15 each and just $10 each for students with id
