Svitlana is originally from a village in the Ternopil region of Ukraine. She started dancing at the age of 13, beginning with Ukrainian folk dancing, and studied choreography at the Terebovlya College of Art. She participated in the Ukrainian Dance Ensemble Chervona Kalyna, which performed in several European countries. She learned hip-hop, ballet, belly dancing, and has several years of professional ballroom dancing, which is her favorite. Since arriving to America in 2012, Svitlana has been teaching children Ukrainian folk dance and occasionally ballet, hip hop, and Latin dance. She was a member of the dance group Hromovytsia in Chicago for two years. Also, she has been a Zumba instructor since 2013, and leads her own class.
In her spare time, Svitlana’s hobbies include embroidery, poetry, quilting, and photography.
Since Svitlana started dancing salsa two years ago, she has been working hard towards her dream of performing with a great team like Inspiracion on the big stage.
